Here are some views taken from my window in the evening and from the breakfast room of the sunset, followed by one view of the lounge:-
You can see from that first view above, that we were situated right by the main railway track with the fast trains going up and down, but none of us were kept awake by them.

Another view of the lounge and reception area showing the entrance to the dining room for evening meals under the heading ROCKET. The second one showing some of the railway engines in photos on the wall.
There were huge photos around the sides of the bar showing the Flying Scotsman and the Mallard (that was the engine that held the speed record of 126 mph.

Finally to Knaresborough - lovely old town and we found some good charity shops there and also a crystal shop where I managed to get the last large crystal I was after, to go with the other two I have at home.
and the crystal I bought is the large yellow citrine one now with the amethyst and black crystals:-

Dian glad you enjoyed the photos. I hadn't been to York for about 6 years and do love that city like you. One man who was talking to us (and he was in his 60s) said he had lived in York all of his life and he had never seen it so bad as that in the city itself.

Lovely Photos Pauline can't remember the last time I went to Knaresborough many years ago now, a place to think about going back for a short break.

Thank you Joan and Jean - glad you enjoyed the photos. I had never been to Knaresborough before Joan and enjoyed the visit on the way home. Jean yes quite an adventure, particularly with the flooding going on, but we all enjoyed every moment of the visit.

it sounds terrible out there. got to Tesco this morning and did loads more washing and some ironing.
Coco is sitting in her basket waiting for me to finish. she has tour baskets now (for cats) which I got for a bargain price at Pets R Us.
these can all be washed. I am wondering if she will go out in the rain as it is pouring.
