Pauline just got your card so thank you. Looked as though it had been in the wars as envelope was in tatters so was pleased I got it. Also got one from son in London saying he is retiring next year so we could collect our pensions together lol

well it was very black this morning, and of course 54 years ago my lovely gran. died today. actually my mother told me years later, that she had asked for me and i could
have hit her. I hope my gran knew I would be there whatever time she needed me.
been to collect my medicine, and some sandwiches from tescos next door, and David got some petrol.
The tree is up now so pleased about that.
have some more cards to open, having heard the postman.
hopefully I shall be going to Paul and Lorraines for Xmas, although granddaughter asked where I was going, and cannot understand that I must not go up there
and she brought her presents here.......

Hi Everyone. This will be my last post until I get back home - and I don't know what day that will be yet - so wishing you all the best Christmas you can get this year.
Dian, yes I am looking forward to the break and it isn't going to be what a lot of us had hoped for, but going to make the best of it. See you popped around to your local shop and what a reliable shop that sounds with them opening each day and Christmas day too. That will be lovely if you can meet your friend today, as you haven't seen her for months and see that her daughter will pick you up and you will go to the local cafe. Well that certainly is news about your son retiring next year and I had to laugh about you both collecting your pensions. At least you got the card even though the envelope was in tatters. What I did this year was just tuck the envelope flap in (and not damp the glue keeping it virus free) so perhaps that open bit caught on their machinery.
Jean, glad to read you will be going to Paul and Lorraine's on Christmas day and at least you have seen your granddaughter and exchanged presents. See the tree is up and you got to Tescos yesterday and collected the medicines too and yes, it was a horrible day. This morning the sun is out here and it is drying up, so better get out there and feed the birds so they can tackle their food while it is dry.
Rita I did get your email, but the link wasn't working, but have sent an email back to you.
Must get a move on now to get the last minute things done and good wishes to all of you xxx.

The postman has just dropped your card in JEAN, thank you for your good wishesi I did not send by land/post office mail, to those
who are on my computer , this year, and Dian I think I thanked you too for your card and good wishes.
My son asked me to go to their house for Christmas dinner but as I still have a cough I will be pleased that he will pop round with car and bring me my hot Christmas meal.here.
I do not feel like celebrating as am constantly thinking of my niece all alone mourning the death of her husband. In normal times they would, have been out in the villages with groups Carolling and dancing and Bryan in a Quartet playing violin Christmas Eve.
Do all of you take care, don't take risks, friend in Wales been very ill for a fortnight and is just now able to get out of bed.

I am pleased you have had a happy time and Jean surprise good news of a baby on the way.
My son brought me my Xmas dinner complete with Menu, cracker etc, just to the door then dashed off home to get his. I still have a cough so dare not go round to them. Was in touch with niece in Alnwick. She is receiving good support from friends up there..
I have had chats on line with Daughter in Canada but not seen anyone. Guess it's the same fir lots of people these days, my friend was going to have her sister over Xmas but no travelling due to Covid so her sister on her own too.
Dian, it will be hard if your New Year celebrations are curtailed up there, It was a great time when I lived in Co. Durham.
So best wishes to you all, Pauline, Jean, Dian, Good Heakth and Hapoiness in 2021

Hi Ladies, Got home early afternoon and been seeing to the washing, catching up on emails, while Stephen has been working on my understairs cupboard door - the hinges had loosened and all needed seeing too with redrilling, larger rawlplugs and longer screws - all completed now and he just had a cup of coffee before getting back to watch the match between Spurs and Fulham which is supposed to kick off at 6, but looks as though this might be called off because one of the Fulham players has been tested as virus positive.
Tomorrow will try and read and catch up with all of your posts - I expect like us everthing had to be altered around for Christmas and to be truthful I was relieved to find I hadn't been flooded, because the flooding was bad near me and seeing as I have a tributary of the Nene uphill from me and another one across the road, I did wonder, but luckily no damage there, but the entire two caravan parks were evacuated and damage was bad there and people were taken to Lings Sports Forum near me, to be organised and then put up in hotels, so I was a bit worried, but only slight damage from high winds my garden seemed to have suffered. One journey we had to make from Rugby across the border to Northants, we had to detour because of flooding and two cars ahead of us got stuck in it when they tried to get through , so we made a 20 minute detour and found another way to destination.
Just hope you have all been well and will enjoy reading and catching up with your posts in the morning. Wishing you all a restful evening ladies xxx

gosh it was so cold I did not want to get up. but.....put the washing on etc.
at least we have had no snow so far
Pauline see you had a lovely time away, now none of us in Northants can go far except for food shopping and the docs. I have to go up there next week for 2nd shot
of vaccine, hope it does not make me so tired as the first.
Dian this is the first time I have not had to sign in for virgin, both computers yesterday went straight through, but today on this one it was back to normal
thanks for the info.
