Hello Everyone - Page 24 Empty Re: Hello Everyone

Mon Oct 05, 2020 10:47 am
Hello Everyone - Page 24 Cyh0pw10  Oh bother - supposed to be dry this morning and it was at 5.30 when I woke up and went to the bathroom, made a drink and got some washing out of the machine that was done during the night, went back to bed and slept for another hour and half and when I got up at 7.30 it had started raining again.  Well I must go out this morning, so umbrella it is, as cut about one and half inches off my hair and set it - looks okay, but not sure how long it will last as I have cut some of the perm out of it and know the rain isn't going to help, so got to keep it covered with the umbrella up.  At least at the moment it isn't windy.

Rita I expect you enjoyed preparing the meal for the visit by Sue and looking forward to hearing about it.

Jean I see you enjoyed the time with the family and it was Oscar's 7th birthday (Hunter was born same time of the year, but 2 years younger than Oscar).  As you say, no longer the large Christmas get-togethers this coming season and not much chance to wear any special clothes either.  Hope you do find the DVDs that are missing and expect they will turn up like the cushions.  Weather was bad for them in Skegness and they all avoided going in any crowded places as people were packing into them because of the rain, so they all went home late on Saturday. As you say, wet dog smell isn't good (even if they are clean).  I have got to say I don't mind football now and again and I did listen to some of the Man U v Spurs yesterday and what a score Spurs 6, Man U 1 - Stephen was very happy and Rachel sent me a video of Tilly (now apparently a Spurs fan) following the ball and spot on with her paw on it - I tried to get it on here, but so far failed.  Don't suppose David was happy with the Norwich result on Saturday.

Dian, see you want to get some trimed off of your hair, but not ready for a perm yet.  Time certainly has flown, seems only a little while ago that Jean and I were mentioning the births of Oscar and Hunter and time flying by too with regard to getting more done in the garden and coming up to shorter days with the clocks back at the end of this month.  You saying about that baby watching a DVD aged about 6 months - yes into technology so young these days.  Sounded like a nice run in good weather for you and the family to have lunch at the coastal town of Girvan - good to get some days in like that while we are still getting good weather (well at least here and there).

Well I have done a few jobs indoors and it is now coming up to 10.45 and it is still raining.  Just wondering if I hold on whether it will alter - one forecast for here says it will be dry for a couple of hours between 12 and 2, but the other one shows rain all day.  Might have a better chance tomorrow from both forecasts, but if I do leave it until then, then I must go out rain or not.

Despite the weather, hope you all have a good start to the week.

hope I can get in and out easier there.
David said we needed some more dog pouches. now I ask him is there anything we want, but for some reason he cannot make a note of it.Not
rocket science. so maybe get this in wilkco.
Barry has seen Jill again through the window, and she is in a wheelchair now. does not know who he is of course
Rita glad you had a nice lunch Sunday as we did over Pauls.
Pauline David was not pleased with Norwich City result, still watching though.

Hell. Another wet day. I've not put my nose out of the door. Yesterday Sunday my niece Sue came for lunch and just as she had gone home my son came, so that was a very pleasant day. Not seen or spoken to any one . I feel so tired yet didn't get up until late, dozed this afternoon, haha I am real a dozy dope today. The buses are running very late as they are having to divert from normal route owing to water main repairs so road is up on the way here, all this week. In any case I do not think I will risk going into town as it is on thr high infection list.
Dian, I see you had a nice trip out and a good meal too. Yes, kiddies nowadays are familiar with watching on computers as soon they can sit up, I have noticed them in their prams.
Jean, How quickly years go by, your Oscar now 7'! . You have lost/mislaid your DVDs , I gave all mine away ages ago, though never had many as not hearing very well. I hope you have things back in place in your house now and can relax and enjoy it.
Dian, many many years ago when I lived up north our neighbour's daughter lived St Rothsay and married a man, (he was a Chemist) called Girvan.
Pauline, it's poured with rain all day here, have you been out? Finished the lock up place yet.?
Has Maria heard from hospital if the treatment has worked for her., she does well to keep cheerfil.

It's taken me ages to write this, I nod off. Sleeping sickness? I hope not.

Hello Everyone - Page 24 Empty Re: Hello Everyone

Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:16 am
Hello Everyone - Page 24 Qz8yif10  Despite the rain I achieved all I wanted to do yesterday (with the umbrella up) - to the centre first where I did some top up shopping, got Hunter his card and into the lock up to bring more items home and then home and unpacked, wrote Hunter's card, packed the books I was giving to Aimie, phoned her to say I was on my way and didn't have long to wait for the bus - only a couple of stops, but better than walking it in the rain.  Had a good chat with her and the children and then home to catch up on the computer.  From the lockup I brought home all of the action men to sort through, the toy lorry and some more jigsaws, so getting there gradually.

Today the sun is out and I am going to try and get those plants cleared from the planters and dug in outside of the fence.  I just hope the weather holds like that for a few hours, but if it rains I have got some more sorting out to do indoors - got to use a larger box to store the toys in for Hunter and Kylian, so will use the large plastic box I had put the garden stuff in that I am using and transfer that to two medium size plastic boxes which are empty and at the moment are upstairs in the craft room, so down they come for using.  Having empty containers spare makes me realise how much stuff I have sorted through from the lock up and here and got to the charity shops.

I spoke to Maria yesterday and if she feels okay she will come with me on Friday to see Gennie.  Updating so far for Maria, she has a scan today, blood test on 14th and on 15th doctor will phone her from the hospital to say what is planned next.  He told her that the gap from chemo was needed so he could see how she had got on with that.  Apparently the tumour has grown just a little, so when he gets the next results she will know what treatment she will be getting.  At the moment there is a slight pain in the right side and that nasty taste in the mouth, plus she was sick the other day, which hasn't happened for quite a while.  Hopefully she will be back on treatment soon and those symptoms will abate again.

Jean, yes the weather was horrible again yesterday and wondering if you got to Wilkos at Riverside and if you couldn't get what you wanted there, there is the one in the Weston Favell Shopping centre and parking is okay there at the moment.  I see the Arndale centre in Wellingborough is dark and parking no good.  Don't think that men are much good at making lists for shopping, unlike us and see that David wasn't much help.  At least Barry can see Jean again, even if it is through a window and see she is now in a wheelchair and doesn't recognise him at all, which is expected with that illness, but awful for their loved ones.  Of course, David will still watch the Norwich matches, even though the score wasn't good at the weekend - they will still continue supporting their own teams.

Dian I don't think the hair will last out much longer and will have to keep on with regular sets, because I don't want to perm it yet, but having cut quite a bit off I can get it into some style again when I scoop it up in the flexicomb.  Now you have almost finished the apples, there are the leaves to start clearing up and they are turning fast now, but I am getting a lovely view from that side window of mine with the different colours - more than can be said for the looming tree outside the back fence - it gradually goes a murky yellow colour - not pretty at all and the leaves are the last to fall from that one, so clearing that lot up goes well into November for me.  See you struggled, but got the bench away in the shed yesterday and know you will need a clear out of that in the Spring and it was a murky dull day for you so not much drying of the washing done and true, the news at the moment, particularly about the virus, does nothing to cheer any of us up.

Rita, Don't blame you for staying in yesterday - I had to go out and it wasn't pleasant at all, but umbrella and trips on buses kept me dry.  That was a good day you had on Sunday with Sue there for a meal and then David calling after she had gone.  Yesterday you might have been dozey, but certainly no dope  Wink.  See the buses are re-routing at the moment due to digging up for the water mains - like we had for too long a stretch when I couldn't use my local bus stop and hope that is soon completed your way, although as you say, really not worth the risk of going into town as the virus infection rate is high in Bedford.  They are converting all of our buses on the No 1 route to have side doors further along for exiting, but to be honest not much good in some places as the pavements at the bus stops don't reach that far to accomodate both doors, so drivers still letting people on and off the doors nearest to him. I certainly am getting there with the lock up, just a few more jigsaws to get home and the clothes rail to be taken apart for Rachel and then just bags, wrapping materials, hangers and metal shelving to sort.  We usually had two Tesco old trolleys standing in there fully packed and yesterday I shifted one of them outside into the corridor for security to move and the other one just has a crate with the jigsaws in, so that one I will shift into the corridor on the next go, sweep the floor of any bits and pieces and try and remember to take that photograph.  You can see above what I have written about Maria - not such good news, but hope she will soon be back with some treatment and start to feel better again.

Must away now ladies and get in that garden and hope you all have a good day.

I posted on here before, but cannot see it. I just have no energy at all. Cannot be bothered to do anything. Of course this dark wet weather is no help and not seeing or speaking to anyone.

I see that you are feeling poorly with sickness Dian, and I wish you better soon..
Jean, I see you went to town, re video, I think costs of everything now are bound to rise, as shops will try to get back money they have lost when closed th to covidvirus.
Pauline, no gardening for you with this never ending rain. Time to catch up on indoor jobs.
I seem to hace slept in chair and bed most of day, now having a drink chocolate then bed again. I had flu jab on Thursday.
Wonder if it's fluey symptoms from that.

Hello Everyone - Page 24 Empty Re: Hello Everyone

Wed Oct 07, 2020 9:08 am
Hello Everyone - Page 24 2ybefx10    The forecast for today in this area is sunshine until this evening, so it has to be garden work again.  Yesterday I worked out there until 4 and then it started raining (few light showers during the day also, but not for long) and before I could clear away all of the tools and items I had been using, the thunder arrived with it and I got soaked, so all gardening clothes back in the washing machine and I went off for a hot bath and into the pyjamas early.  I had managed to get the 2 Himalayan Honesuckle planted outside, did a lot of weeding and had also dug up a cranesbill (you know the common geranium that has lovely purple flowers), that was getting too massive in the bed by the side of the house and got that split up and planted in a couple of places.  To get to the Himalayan Honeysuckle I had to get out some planters in a couple of corners to reach it, so they are now standing around waiting for attention today.  Probably it was the best weather to get anything dug in as the ground outside the fence would have been normally rock hard, but after the rain it was easy to turn over and the rain after the plants went in would have been good for them.

As I had a long evening I did shift the garden items I am using, into another couple of empty containers and now have the large storage box and a smaller one ready to put the childrens' toys in - another job for a wet weather day.  Needless to say my hair looks a shambles, but not going to worry about that and will deal with that again on Thursday, ready for seeing Gennie on Friday.

Dian I do hope you start to feel better today and that sickness is leaving you.  That did come on suddenly and wasn't expected and hope you managed to get some rest between bouts of that.

Rita your post did appear yesterday and the same today and probably that might be the results of the flu jab that you are feeling so tired and don't want to do anything.  At least you have had yours, but I am still waiting to hear from my surgery about them. Well you were wrong about me gardening, because as you can see from above, I got a lot done although ended up soaked when I was putting everything away when the thunderstorm arrived.  Same here, not seen anyone here since early last week, but did pop along to see Aimie and the children on Monday and also got to the centre for the shopping and going into the lockup, but am keeping busy.  Not that I look forward to the work in the garden at the moment, but it has to be done.  You are right about the prices going up - I did check in Tescos on Monday and noticed that the deionised water I buy for the steam iron has gone up from £1 to £1.50.  I did ask you the other week if your local library was now open and whether you were managing to get any books to read.

Jean what a huge price for transferring videos to DVDs.  There used to be someone who lived near me who did that for people, as he had the equipment, but not sure if he lives there now and his prices were so reasonable.  That doesn't sound good about Kaz's leg. Was that scan she had showing the groin artery, because that caused my trouble and had to have the op for that.  Anyway she should go back to the doctor to see about that.  I will get the up-to-date news from Gennie on Friday and keeping my fingers crossed about good news re the bungalow.  There are also 8 new bungalows being built along the road from me at the end of Billing Brook Road, just before you turn the corner into Crestwood Road where Aimie lives and backs onto and they are for Northampton Partnership Homes for disabled people, so that is also a possibility for her.

Must get ready now for the gardening and also one of the plants I ordered is supposed to be out for delivery today.  Hope today goes well for you all and Dian you start to feel much better.

Rita maybe it is the flu jab. they did tell me I would be a bit off for a couple of days, all I got was the usual pain in the arm.
Pauline see you have been so busy once more.
Today we went to Ashridge Estate (nat.trust) and there were loads of people there. Coco got mugged by six children all about 4 or 5. their parents know no better
obviously, and Isaid you must never touch a dog without asking the owner, as some of them are fierce. Coco of course loved it.
Could not get on here, sign in saying mistake, so I went to the home page, and there you all were
Do not know what kind of scan Kaz had Pauline, have told her to to back to the docs

Hello Everyone - Page 24 Empty Re: Hello Everyone

Thu Oct 08, 2020 1:19 pm
Hello Everyone - Page 24 Rwafwy10    What a brilliant day I had here yesterday weatherwise.  I knew at least one of the new plants was arriving so thought it better to work out the front for a while until that arrived.  In fact all 5 of them arrived about 1.15 and in good order too and by then I had got well into cutting back the shrubs, so thought I would carry on in the front garden.  Next door neighbours appeared and I asked if it was okay to come their side to cut back some of my shrubs that were growing over their way and they said yes that was fine.  I had also spotted some of those invasive trees growing all over their garden and near my shrubs and explained to them that they were a real nuisance and roots invaded under buildings, so offered to dig them up for them.  They were very grateful for that, so went round there and finished that lot.  The ash tree might be suffering from die back, but not around here it isn't.  The house where they had that huge row of leylandii cut back has now let an ash tree take root and of course they are growing everywhere creating a worse job than getting rid of sycamore saplings.  Anyway I cut loads back and most of my shrubs out there are deciduous so keep their leaves all year and there was so much to do.  I still have more cutting back to do and was hoping today that I could get out there again and finish it (those new shears have come in very handy), but of course about 7.30 last evening the rain returned and some through the night.  So far today it has stayed dry with a bit of wind and was hoping I could tackle some more this afternoon, because although I cut up a load of cuttings much smaller (and they are in one big black sack) there was still another pile left to sort and I also started stripping that ivy off of the neighbour's fence that runs down the end of my front garden.  It came from that side originally and I had it trained over an old metal arch to keep it in order, but really fed up with the time it takes to keep that in order, so that is going and every bit I see raising its head over that fence is going to be cut off.  I do have a variagated green/white privet that is growing nicely and got that trained to the trellis over the gate between front and back garden and there is another one growing to the side of that arch and already climbing well, so will train those two over that arch eventually.  All of the nuisance comes from that neighbour's garden because it was there and next door to him where there was the long line of leylandii, now the ash tree the new owners have allowed to grow and continually the ivy, plus there is still one leylandii left that is reaching out again towards my guttering and roof and looming over the end of my front garden - growlllll........  Of course, they never do think of seeing what is growing the other side of their fences either, so muggins here has to clear it all   Crying or Very sad  Rolling Eyes.

Hopefully I might be able to do a bit more today out there and tomorrow have arranged to meet Maria at 10.30 and we are off to see Gennie, but there is more rain forecast for tomorrow afternoon and the weekend looks a bit hit and miss.

Dian I am glad to read that you got over that sickness bout - yes water and dry toast usually do the trick and hope you managed to shed a few lbs with that - something good can come out of it.  See you have some exercises the physio gave you when she called and hope they help with strengthening the muscles and getting rid of the back pain which you still get from time to time.  That cranesbill certainly does spread, but I am happy to keep a small amount in the garden and it can spread as far as it wants to outside of the fence and see you have more work to do in the garden with regard to lifting more apples and leaves.  Enjoy tomorrow when your daughter and granddaughter are picking you up for an outing.

Jean yes I am certainly keeping busy with the gardening, but getting there slowly and would be nice if neighbours kept all of their property in good order - like you having to put up with that ivy over the garage.  See you enjoyed the outing yesterday and of course, Coco loved all of the attention from the children, but as you say, would be much better if people taught their children to ask first before they approached other people's dogs.  Think that is wise advice to Kaz to go back to the doctor again.  That was good of your neighbour to mention that the car window was open slightly and good to read that the tyre has now been sorted, so another job out of the way.

Rita I hope you feel better now and got over the affects of what was probably caused by the flu jab.  Before I meed Maria tomorrow, I am going to pop into our surgery and see if I can get the flu jab sorted for me.

Going to get a light lunch now and fingers crossed I can do some garden work after that. Hope all of you enjoy the day.

Hi there. Jean, yes, parents nowadays let their children make a fuss of other people's dogs, but will not have one for Their kids. My daughter has a small black poodle which is trained to help deaf person and so is allowed in all shops etc and she is continually upset by people whose children insist on petting the little dog and the parents be quite rude when told to stop.

Dian, I am so relieved that your tummy upset is over and that you have some exercises to help strengthen your muscles.

Pauline, what a demon for work you are, but yes, once a shrub/sapling gets established it is almost impossible to get rid if it. Grr I find blackberry growing thro other plants and even coming up at tiny inch gap between paving and house brick wall.

This morning I went toSainsbury's 9.30 then arrive home 11 30, put all away made a bit lunch then just flopped. I had no energy left and went to bed at 2 30 slept for three hours. I am now sleeping too much, IT is not long since I couldn't sleep much, and now I cannot keep awake. I think I will, have to try and establish some sort of routine, but I do get so that if I don't lie down I will fall down.. I take a vitamin tablet every day, but just doing my household jobs I have to sit down a lot. I used to clean, decorate, paint my house, garden etc, now find it worrying that I cannot do much.

well the sun shone when I got up but it is gradually going to fade. at least it is not raining
when getting the tyre done on the way to the garage, the dash lights went out on the car.....but this will have to wait until its MOT
next month. that car. if we had gotten that 10 year warranty it would have cost us thousands. one year to go before it gets sold.
if we do get anything for it.
Rita at least you got out to Sainsburys, was it very busy? Maybe going down there lunchtime as they have whiskey on offer I have a schedule
of cleaning for my bungalow but it gets missed.
Pauline you have been so busy, must have lost a few lbs. Hope the visit to Gennie goes well

Hello Everyone - Page 24 Ge_l_a10  Got here at last - been a long day and just caught up on the computer with emails, etc.

Yesterday I managed to get in the front again and did more cutting back (still more to do, but getting there) and cut up a lot of the cuttings into smaller sections and now have three full black bin bags full.  Also tackled more of that ivy and again, still more to do of that, but everything out there is looking so much tidier.

This morning first I went to the surgery and sorted out my prescription, because there isn't a ventolin spray on the prescription (only had 2 in the last 2 years, so don't use them a lot, but wearing the masks doesn't help with the breathing), I asked the receptionist to put the request in to put that on the prescription and she did that and is putting the prescription through for  me.  Also got the flu jab booked in and there was one at 12.20, but couldn't accept that because we were visiting Gennie, so booked in for Wed 14th at 10.40.  Met Maria and bus came along quickly and we spent a good couple of hours with Gennie, having a laugh with her until the carers arrived at lunch time and sorted out a couple of things for her while we were there.  Because she isn't on the internet and by the time Ru (the friend who chased the bungalow for her) gets home from work in the evening, by then there are only flats left to bid on.  Anyway I am going to phone them on Monday and explain that I will be looking out for her on a Wednesday when the bungalows come through and see what they need in the way of confirmation from Gennie to do that on her behalf.  She must have a number already allotted to her so they will need to know that I expect and can give them her phone numbers, so they can check with her.  I will at least be able to get straight on there on a Wednesday early and see what there is that would be suitable for her.

After leaving there we went to the centre and Maria did a quick sweep up of the floor while I filled my trolley and got the case with the china and glass in that, plus the rest of the jigsaws in a bag and the action man motorbike also and got the clothes rail apart and slid the poles of that into the trolley.  All that is left to do now is get the metal basket storage containers home here and sort the packing material and hangers, plus get back my tray on legs which we used to display things on and also some small wooden shelving that was mine and it will then be finished.  Here is a picture of Maria doing a good job sweeping and then three shots showing what it was like and it was packed from floor to ceiling with all of the shelves used and two large tesco trolleys full up with items standing in the floor space, so now you see why it has taken so long to clear:-

Late last evening I had another quick look for a hedgehog house and found one for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Northampton.  Sent a message asking if this was still available and he got back to me and said it was and as I lived on the other side of the town from him he is kindly going to deliver it to me tomorrow.  He makes them and also works with one of the local hedgehog groups that looks after them.  Funnily enough I was just going to go into the garden about 4 to do a quick pick up of leaves and rake the lawn and suddenly Tiggywinkle arrived and was drinking water, so put down more food and him/her had a good feed.  I have just been out there again and put down more of the dried cat food (which is good for them) and that is being crunched away on, plus put out more fresh water.  I did manage to get a photo this afternoon and as you can see, this one is still quite tiny and needs a lot of fattening up for the winter and haven't seen the bigger one for a few days, but the larger ones are probably hibernating already.  Anyway from tomorrow he will have a new home.

Hello Everyone - Page 24 P1130346

Rita I see that your daughter has the same trouble with her hearing dog and has to ask children to stop petting it and some people take that badly - well they shouldn't be so ignorant in the first place.  Same for you, with blackberries taking root and just as bad getting them up if they have got themselves established.  I noticed that I have another three of those ash seedlings sprouting up round the corner from the porch against the house wall, so will get them up tomorrow - fingers crossed that the weather stays dry and I can get on again in the garden.  Must get a move on now with protecting the plants that need it with the fleece, because colder temperatures now forecast.  Rest for you after the trip to Sainsbury and it also takes a time to get that away once you are home. I really didn't feel like getting into the garden after getting home from Gennie's and the lock up, but after sitting down for half an hour with a coffee I managed to find a bit more energy after spotting the hedgehog and putting the food out, I noticed how some of the lawn needed clipping again and got to and did that with the shears where needed and cleared the leaves again.  You really shouldn't worry about needing to rest so much, after all I am younger than you and know how I have slowed down and can no longer do the entire house in one go like I used to - couple of room and I have to stop for a while and rest.

Jean another problem with the car, but see you are going to leave the dashboard light until the MOT and then think about selling it after another year.  Always one problem or another to cope with.  Hope you got the whisky on offer at Sainsburys if you managed to get there.  Definitely taken off a bit more weight with the garden work, but as far as schedules are concerned, I have given up on them - just list everything in urgent order Rolling Eyes. You can see from above that we enjoyed the visit with Gennie and hope I can help her with regard to getting her into a bungalow, because I can get on the internet early on a Wednesday when any bungalows are listed.

Dian, yes a bit more weight lost with the gardening work, so that is a help and thankfully got the flu jab booked for next week.  That was good that your daughter got you to the bank and you managed to sort out a couple of things with them, as you are having trouble with the internet banking, then off to B & M for some shopping and later found some bargains in one of the sales - black trousers always handy to have and you got a nice scarf too.  More shopping in Iceland and then off to get your granddaughter as she had a day off from work and all of you off for a nice lunch and then more shopping and you got a blouse in the sales and I had to laugh about the jigsaw puzzles - good job you don't live near me, because I would have delivered a load of them to you Wink  Smile.  See you have an appointment booked for an eye test next week and although it was rain on and off, sounds as though you had a good day.  It just rained slightly here about 6 after I had got back in from the garden, but was another dry day and hopefully will get another one tomorrow so I can get more done out there.

Well ladies it is now 11.30, so I had better get upstairs for a bath and bed - hope you all have a restful night.

Hello Everyone - Page 24 U29ani10 Hi Everyone, just a quick post this morning after the long one late last evening.  That gif is a photo of Hunter taken on his birthday with new hat and gloves for Winter (one of his presents) and with his usual lovely smile and I thought it was a nice cheerful one for this morning.

The gentleman with the hedgehog house has just called and the item is very well made. It was listed for £16 which is much lower in price than a lot of them and I also asked for the starter pack of sweet hay and an attractant which guides them into the house for £1 more and as he delivered it I made him take £20 - well worth that amount.

It is dull and there is a cold wind this morning, but at least it is dry and I am off out to the garden to get as much work done as I can and position the hedgehog house before the rain arrives again, which is forecast for today.  Hope all of you enjoy your Saturday.

Pauline, your hedgehog will have quality accomdation , will you be able to tell if/when they move in.?I one used to come into my garden but my neighbour had all her garden/yard covered in concrete and Ithink they used to come through from the woods moving along by the fences.. At last your storage place is clear, (sighs of relief) done before the cold weather sets in. Maria has done well to help you whenever she was able to but it's been a long tiring job for you.
Did you get your gas boiler etc sorted. Mine is due fir checkup next week.
That is a good photo of Hunter, all ready for cold weather.
Dian, your washing got a good wind to dry in, such a change from the torrential rain. Are you remembering to do your exercises. I forget to do mine.
Jean, cars always seem to need some attention and are so expensive to run nowadays. do you have a large garage , nice to have car covered in bad weather. My dentist sent me reminder of check up, so must be open, but I Will not go unless I get toothache. I noticed Boots opticians gave the area roped off, and Specsavers have chairs outside their shop (it's in a shoping arcade) so everyone everywhere having long waits for attention.
It was very breezy here today but I walked to the shop for a newspaper.. More cars on the rd shops car park now, colder weather I suppose.

Hello Everyone - Page 24 A4ohxr10    Good morning ladies.

Yesterday I managed to achieve a lot in the garden.  Got the hedgehog house sited near the patio and under the area where the ivy runs opposite the lounge patio doors - that small area of ground has always been hard to dig and the house covers that nicely and is in a protected area so ideal for it.  I also worked all the way down from there getting all of the planters dealt with for the winter and back in place.  Even got one of the new plants in too, plus got a lot more planters with foxgloves and wallflowers sorted.  Today is sunny and hope to get through more and should try and finish the last two baskets and deal with the fuchsias that need cutting back and protecting, plus I must get the last 2 begonias indoors and the remainder of the geraniums, but first need to do some more sieving from old planters and clear them which will give me some larger ones to put the new plants in, as I am getting through the stuff already sieved and using that together with the compost to put the plants in.  I also have dumped a big pile of cuttings in the corner by the eucalyptyus tree, and am quite happy to let a lot of that rot away and can deal with that another time and add it to the compost bin (that was a really good buy).  I have taken some photos of the hedgehog house and where it is sited and the work done yesterday, but will leave them until I have more time, because don't want to waste the sunshine outside today.

Dian, well part of the garden is looking good and hope to get more done today. Glad you liked the photo of Hunter.  I must phone Gennie today and see if she has the number she is registered under on the NPH site, so I get cracking next week with the bungalow application for her.  Yes that lock up was a size and as far as the jigsaws are concerned, I might find time during the winter to do some of them and make sure they are complete before handing them on.  Hope you enjoy doing the one you bought.  Hope you did get the washing dry as you had stripped the bed and see you have to wait for the appointment at the hairdressers, but at least you have one.  See she advised waiting for the perm and hope you can get one in for that just before Christmas.  That is what I want to do, but I did cut a lot of the perm out and it is a bit difficult to keep mine curly at the moment - need to do more setting to keep it in order and what with the gardening and rain here and there none of that helps.  Hope the eye test goes well and you don't need to lay out for new glasses and see you have a dental appointment - my dentist was still not doing many appointments last time I checked, but intend to chase them during next week about that.  The trouble is, the dentist I see, has to have quite a bit of time off due to an illness that he has and I expect he has to be careful about what work he can do at the moment.

Jean see it is the same with you waiting for a dental appointment and also the diabetic eye screening.  At least I managed to get the flu appointment for this Wednesday coming.

Rita, when I am sure the hedgehog isn't appearing for feeding any longer, I can have a quick check by lifting the roof from the house and having a quick peep in - don't want to do that too often, because it can disturb them and they will leave.  I would imagine that there are quite a few hedgehogs in the woods at the back of you, but see you don't get any visits now.  As far as the lock up is concerned, you saw how much we had out for selling on that day that you came along to see us and there were still several things left in the lock up that we didn't have room to display and each time we had a sale, several people would arrive to give us items, so it never did go down that much.  Anyway just the last bit of sorting to do and then it is over and was happy the other day that Maria felt well enough to help.  I am just hoping that when we get a vaccine for this virus, that the clubs will start up again and them and also the residents council might need some sales to raise funds, because I have had to store a lot of items home here and am getting quite full up with that.  Trying to keep it in the craft room is a bit of a struggle, but got to be done at the moment.   Yes Greg sorted out the check on the boiler for me just over a week ago and everything was fine with that and hope yours will be okay.  As you say, Hunter all kitted out for the cold weather and of course, quite a long walk for him there and back with Mum and his brother to and from school now, so out in all weathers.  I see that you could get a dental appointment, but you are not going to bother at the moment unless you have any trouble with your teeth.  Agree with you that there are definitely more vehicles on the road with more people back at work and got to say that it was lovely at the start of the lockdown with the peace and quiet due to the lack of traffic on the two roads near me - much noisier now.  See you managed a walk out yesterday to get a newspaper in the breezy weather.  Having owned a shop with a newsagency for nearly 13 years in London, I never want to buy any of them - not good memories of getting things ready for the newspaper rounds in bad weather conditions (and well done our paper lads for coping so well) and the early mornings in that trade  Rolling Eyes.

So it is off to the garden for me and hope you have the sunshine your way like I have here and enjoy your Sunday.
