Hello Everyone - Page 9 Oiadod11   Another grey start to the day, but it is only 7.30 and hoping there will be some improvement.  Yesterday I did pop out a couple of times and do a bit of dead heading, but that was it in between the rain and carried on indoors and got the bedding washed after stripping the bed and made that up again and dusted and vacuumed my bedroom and managed to finish all of the ironing from the last lot of washing that had dried.  The bedding that is drying on the airer won't need ironing as that set always dries without creases, so ironing board away again for quite a while.  I also sorted a few more of the photos.

Next job today is to set the hair and it will be nice to have a set that will last for quite a while now the hair has been permed again.  Will carry on and complete the upstairs housework and hopefully start on the downstairs and then carry on with the sorting of more of the photos, ready to take them to Rugby and see what Stephen wants to keep out of that lot.  I don't know if I mentioned it the other day, but Rachel has received a job promotion and a pay rise, because her boss was so impressed with how she has worked during lockdown to keep the company going, so definitely some celebrating to do when I am there.

Dian you pinch as many gifs as you want - that one of the pony and also the butterfly today, came from an old lot of gifs I had saved on Photobucket and downloaded them onto my computer when I packed up with Photobucket - and that reminds me I really must start to shift a lot off of the computer onto the external hard drive that I have, so pc doesn't get overloaded.  That sounds like a really lovely time you had yesterday and finishing off with the fish tea and a gin and tonic and then you were going to do some work after getting home at 8 in the evening, but I hope not too much.

Jean and Rita I hope you both had an easy day yesterday and hope today goes well for all of you.  I am now off to get my hair set and hopefully those tree pruners will arrive today as it says on the Parcel Force site that they are now in the delivery depot.

I did some gardening yesterday and started again today, but the ground is so hard. David says it is going to rain tonight. Sitting here it is so dark, Midsomer midwinter
more like.
I have a little thing creeping in on here whilst I am typing. Earlier the site was not working and could not log in
I hope your tree pruners come soon Pauline. we have ordered a bistro set from Coopers, the first one would not click together. then they sent a black one
when it should have been gold, so hopefully the right colour will come soon
Pauline have a lovely weekend
After that gin I would have fallen to sleep Dian. you had a lovely day.
Rita hope you are fine

Hello Everyone - Page 9 Empty Re: Hello Everyone

Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:46 am
Hello Everyone - Page 9 2f2p5z10  Well it is Midsummers Day, but I doubt very much that the sun was seen rising over the Lodestone at Stonehenge this morning, because I was awake at 5.30 and it was dull then, but managed to get back to sleep again and an hour ago I was standing outside with a cup of coffee on a grey morning and the rain started, but now the sun is out and it is drying up and I hope it stays that way as I am off to get to Gennie's in a little while and see to that cooker of hers and then to the centre to do some top up shopping to last me until I leave for Rugby.

Yesterday I finished all of the upstairs and worked my way down the stairs with Henry and he is now ready to start on the downstairs, perhaps later today, set my hair which has turned out well and although I cut a lot of it off, I can still get it up in the flexi comb, so pleased with the result of that perm.  Also sorted some more photos and got some sewing jobs done that were fairly urgent and then sorted and stored some more things for keeping for a sale for when the clubs open again or a local event that the Residents Council had planned for July and will have to see if that is allowed to take place.

Jean, David was right it did rain again, so hope it stays dry today so you can get some of the gardening done that you had planned and we have a proper midsummer's day.  Those tree pruners never did get delivered and are still listed as being in the delivery depot, so suppose they might be here on Monday and that probably means staying indoors so I don't miss Parcel Force arriving - expect I can find more indoor jobs to finish off on that day.  I hope you get the correct bistro set this time and it arrives soon for you.

Dian, I am lucky that I can deal with home perms - my Mum and I used them from when they first came out and what a stink of ammonia we used to get with the first ones and also I have never enjoyed sitting in a hairdressers.  Definitely a whole lot cheaper if you can see to your own hair at home.  See you got  a sunny afternoon and managed to get the washing out and cut the grass, plus trim the back hedge with a few sit downs in between and the cat joining you and then back in for him for another sleep Smile.

Hope your weekend is going well Rita and all of you get some good weather today and now I am off to get ready for the trip to Gennie's - will be good to see her after all of this long time, even if it is with mask and gloves.

Dian last week heard from the insurance people in that they were not paying out. to do with the virus. David could not see that in the policy and so am working on that
glad your energy is rising.
Did some more gardening and hope the plants take. today can hardly shift....
Pauline when I  first coloured my hair age about 18, my father said you are not to do that, too late it was already on my hair. ...auburn I think it was. He also said
when the Birth of a Baby was on that I was to leave the room and come back when it was over, now that did me a lot of good. my twins saw it and got fed
up with watching it as it was on loads of times.....thinking about that, as it would not have worked for me as I had twins..
Hope Gennie is ok and you have a nice visit today.
Paul and Lorraine came up with Davids fathers day present and a lovely card.

Sun Jun 21, 2020 6:48 pm
hi there. I hope I have nit been scammed as a lot of strange items have appeared on email and one saying from russia.
It turned out to be a  nice day with sunshine but strong wind. SUE (niece) came this afternoon and we walked as far as the shop as I needed milk, we were the only ones in the shop wearing face masks. Then we sat outside fir a while with a cuppa until she went back home.  She had been booked to go to visit my daughter in Canada in September but has had word from  the  Plane people  who will send her credit as she hopes to go whenever  flights are possible again.  So many people have paid for their holidays, some very large amounts.  I thought of you  Jean,  its taking you so long to get sorted.
Dian, i see you are managing to do quite a lot in your garden, and have been out with your daughters,, and have beeen in some shops too.
Pauline, you have permed your hair successfully all ready to go to Rugby.
That will be a treat
My hair. Is quite bushy now, i have  put various lotions vitapoint etc on trying to smooth it but curly hair will not be tamed, so like everyone else I will just have to wait a while for haircut.
Weather forecast is fir a very hot week ahead, I wonder where you Drive to this Monday Jean,  are you ok with lack if toilets when you go out..
Neighbour said she had gone into town, very quiet.
Have a good sunny week all of you, byeee

Hello Everyone - Page 9 Empty Re: Hello Everyone

Mon Jun 22, 2020 9:07 am
Hello Everyone - Page 9 91ozbh10  Good Morning Ladies.  One thing I don't like about this site, is that we are stuck with the colour chart they have and cannot get different shades of the colours.  I would have liked to type in a shade of green matching the gif, but cannot be done, so went grey instead.

Did all I needed to do yesterday.  Went to see Gennie first and got that cooker knob sorted for her so now she has a working oven again, then made her a cup of coffee and we sat and had a natter for about 45 minutes putting the world to rights and then I went off to catch the bus to the centre.  Still people on the bus there and back not wearing face masks and drivers not being firm enough with passengers and there are instructions on every bus stop now.  Also had quite a long wait both times (as it was Sunday) for the buses.  When I got to the centre I stuck to the plan of only going in Tescos and got the small amount I needed there (plus a couple of bargains) and then straight to Lidls.  Everything I needed was in both shops, except still a shortage of normal size flour - although I still have enough at home at the moment, but keeping my eye out for a couple more bags.  Walked home after that, passing the charity shops on the way that are on the small retail park behind Lidls and could see that Barnardos sorting depot and shop and the DEBRA charity shop were still closed, but loads of items dumped outside Barnardos. Think they are supposed to be opening next week and do hope so, because when I get back from Rugby I want to try and finish clearing the lock up.

When I got home I did a bit more of clearing the decks downstairs after putting the shopping away and then sorted a few more photos.  Also finally had an internet chat with Tescos mobile and explained that I hadn't been able to get into the site, since I joined them, to see the bills and got that all sorted with the user name and password and altered the password to something I wanted, then printed off the 3 bills since March, so another fiddly job out of the way.  Today I have already spot cleaned the dining room carpet - however hard I try to change shoes when I go in and out from the garden, there are times I forget, so there were a couple of dark patches that have now been cleaned and also started cleaning the kitchen end.  Shouldn't take me long to get downstairs to rights and after that there is some cutting back needed in the front garden - can't go in the back garden in case I miss the delivery of the tree pruners which I do hope get delivered today - it is marked as sorted for delivery at their Milton Keynes depot, so live in hope.

Dian, I think I remember those Richard Hudson perms although didn't use them, but stuck to Toni and there was also Prom, then later on there was Twink.  Over the last few years I have often bought Boots own when they did different types, but now they only stock just one, so I buy the Schwarzkofp, because they make them for different types of hair and I need a gentle one now.  I am sure your hair isn't as bad as Worzel Gummidge, but you should have seen mine the night before I permed it and when I woke up next morning - I would say that his was better than mine  Rolling Eyes.  See you got your rain the night before last and you were happy that you had managed to cut the grass before that arrived and then it started off a pleasant day yesterday and hope it stayed that way.  You saying that things take you longer to do these days - same here - a few years back I could clean a whole house thoroughly in half a day, but now it takes me over the course of about 5 days to get things done properly.  Wish it took longer than that to get it untidy and dusty again.

Jean that insurance company are going to keep on fighting to avoid paying out, but know you are determined to beat them, but they will twist the wording of the small print to suit them, so wish you luck.  See you got some gardening done yesterday.  Thankfully my Dad didn't get a word in when it came to perms or hair colouring because my Mum was in control of that and she used both and for me too.  I can remember toward the end of one school holiday she used a red tinted colouring on my hair and it didn't wash out in time before the school started up again, whoops....   Yes enjoyed the time with Gennie and glad that Paul and Lorraine called over with a card and gift for David for Fathers' Day.  I think we are all getting a bit more relaxed with the visiting of relatives now that lockdown is easing and we know that each other have kept well.

Rita not such a long walk for you yesterday when Sue called over, but you needed milk so went to the local shop with her and then sat in the garden after that with a cuppa before she went home.  Well you never know, restrictions seem to be easing with regard to visiting other countries, so she might get to see Leigh in September, but if not, at least she has credit with the airline for a later visit.  How is Leigh's husband at the moment while he is still waiting for the op?  As you say curly hair will not be tamed and nothing seems to be working to keep yours smoothed down, so you are looking forward to the hairdressers opening up again.  I had an email from my dentist the other day to say that my July appointment was cancelled, so answered back and asked them time and date for one later in the year and so far have heard nothing.

Hope the week starts off well for all of you and I am going to make a second cup of coffee and then get cracking.

P.S Just checked Parcel Force site again and parcel is listed as out for delivery today - hurray.

just had another call from Amazon and put the phone down......
yesterday was a wash out, David had gout the day before, so did not expect to go out, in the morning he said he was ok and we went to the Peterborough Area
villages which was not good. then his arm played up and we had to come home.
Rita as for toilets, try not to go too far these days. if necessary there is a garden centre somewhere but have not been in one of those yet.
Pauline glad you had a nice chat with Gennie. I think my ex son has put a captcha virus on here. got from from google. will have to get them off.
Dian they still do not know what is wrong with my foot was going to insist on getting it sorted this year, but the virus stopped that

Hello Everyone - Page 9 Empty Re: Hello Everyone

Tue Jun 23, 2020 12:45 pm
Hello Everyone - Page 9 Gbcrxg10  Hi Everyone.  Just enjoyed a fairly long phone call with Maria and did forget to mention the other day, that she had won £3000 from one of the charities she supports, so probably will partly spend that on a new carpet for the lounge that she needs.  Have caught up with all of the emails and surveys and had intended to be out in the garden earlier than this, but managed to achieve some things out there yesterday.

The tree pruners arrived yesterday morning while I was finishing off the last of the downstairs housework and house is all tidy and clean again.  Worked on the photos too yesterday and where I had 2 picnic tables up in the kitchen am now down to one, so shows how many got sorted.  Then managed to get out to the front garden and clip back all of the shrub that was growing over the hand rail down the steps (all those clippings left in a pile, but will deal with them when I get home from Rugby) and then dug up two plants and a shrub that weren't doing too well from the front and have got them in containers for the time being.  Then got out into the back garden and did some weeding there, dead headed and collected some of the delphinium seeds and took 3 of the sunflowers out of the planter I had them crowded into and planted them out in the garden, which left room the for 3 left in the planter and then finished up by watering everything.  Got a list of more urgent jobs to do out there this afternoon and tomorrow will devote to more photo sorting and getting ready for Rugby as will be off about midday on Thursday.  Noticed how hot it is in the garden today, as I just got in the recycling bin which had been emptied and that was full to the brim as I didn't bother to put in out 2 weeks ago.  I do need to check the lawn mower today, because it didn't sound too healthy last time I used it and would like to cut the grass today - hopefully I won't have to purchase a new one of them Rolling Eyes.

Dian, as you can see, the tree pruners did arrive, so plan to use them on the Eucalyptus when I get back from Rugby.  Rain for you yesterday so you had to catch up with things indoors instead of any garden work.  Sorry to read that one of your relatives had been in hospital for a few days and is home now with nothing solved about the pain in her leg and hope that can get sorted for her and also hope that you have good weather today as you are going to your younger daughter's house - enjoy that visit.

Jean another scam call for you - they are such a nuisance.  Yes I had a recorded one about that company the other day and like you, put the phone down.  I see that David wasn't that well yesterday morning, but he improved and you went out around the Peterborough village area in the afternoon, which wasn't that exciting and that was cut short as David's arm started playing up.  Do hope he is better today and you get that computer virus sorted.  Yes, you never did get that sorted as to what was causing the trouble with your foot and not much chance of getting that solved so far this year.

Rita, hope your week started off well (as the walk wasn't such a long one on Sunday) and hopefully you aren't so tired as last week.

Well ladies I must get an early lunch and then into the garden to work through the list of jobs.  Hope you all have a good day.

Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:25 pm
Hello Everyone - Page 9 6mxjr610    Hi Ladies.  Back to say what a nightmare of a day.  The mower has given up the ghost, so had to do the whole of the grass with the strimmer and that has left me with aching arms.  Sorted out the old gazebo poles and haven't decided yet what to do with them but got them all tidy and covered in large plastic bags and out of the way and at last I have a much larger area of patio to use.  When I searched out the strimmer I then had to have a good old sort out of the garden store it was in and then of course the search for the spare strimmer line, but satisfied with how much tidier things are looking.  When I searched out the garden store I threw away one old gazebo cover and a pair of shears that are so blunt and another couple of small tools no longer working well.  Will treat myself to a new pair of garden shears, secateurs and of course a lawn mower when I get back from Rugby.  At least using the strimmer I didn't have to see to the edges of the lawn separately.

I am off now for a bath and then will get the list ready for Rugby and catch up with some recorded t v.  Hope you have all had a good day and sleep well tonight.

Hello Everyone - Page 9 Lea59m10  Hi Everyone.  Quick look in this morning.  Have already caught up with today's emails, got a few small jobs finished in the garden and now on with the photo sorting for a while.

It is a lovely sunny day here and looks as though it is going to be a hot one, so will be quite happy to do some cool jobs today, because that garden work yesterday was tiring in the heat.  Hope you all enjoy your day.

Hello Everyone - Page 9 Ugyeoi10  Hi Everyone.  Quick early call in and after this off to pack ready for Rachel to pick me up about midday.  Yesterday finished off a few quick jobs in the garden and watered well last evening and that has got to last until I get home on Monday.  Should I hope for a couple of bouts of rain during the nights, but somehow don't think that is going to happen.  Also worked on a lot more of the photos to take with me today so Stephen can decide what he wants to keep.

Jean, as far as the mower goes, things always seem to give up when urgently needed, but although it made my arms ache at least I had the strimmer going after the search through the garden store and left that tidier than it had been.  See that was a lucky cat for you winning the tin of toffees and I bet the cat didn't get a look in Very Happy.  Well it does sound as though you might be able to get into the surgery again with the instructions arriving to wear a face mask and hope you can get the diabetic blood test sorted.  Don't you get fed up with the scam calls!!!  Hope you are able to speak to your Aunt in the home next time you try to phone her and have the family been able to sort out the sale of the house yet?

Dian glad to read you had a long enjoyable day out with the family and see you got a lot of visits in to more garden centres and of course, ended up with plants Rolling Eyes - more work to do.  See the rain arrived during yesterday, when you got back to your daughter's, but at least she managed to get your hair done for you - as you say not that good because a visit to the hairdressers is needed (particularly a perm), but bet it made you fell better for a while.  With regard to the Amazon calls, I have just started receiving them too.

Rita I hope the week is going well for you.

Will try and post when I get home on Monday and enjoy the rest of the week and weekend Ladies.

I posted on here this morning after you Jean but now cannot see it. Mmm what did I  not do?
Thats a disappointment Jean you not getting the insurance paid, seems we must read e eryword of a pokicyesoecially the tiny print. Yes, sad that your neighbour died alone but you may get some nice folk in that house.
Dian, i see you are having a happy time with your family and getting out to the shops. I did my bed change today and the sheets dried very quickly. Yesterday I went to village shop and was glad to get. Home as sun was so hot.
I am sure Pauline will be enjoying her visit to Rugby and seeing round Stephen and Rachels new house.
Nothing to report here, not seen anyone. Spoke to friend on phone and she said she had been to Debenhsms store, but had not bought anything as she only saw two other people in there and it didnt feel  right...i will not go into town as there is a high count of the virus there.    Its a warm muzzy night now, not a breath of breeze.

too hot for me today. could not breathe properly, had to find shade outside. 80 degrees in the lounge with everything open
Pauline did try and phone my Aunt left a message instead. do not know about the property sale.
it seems the poor woman had been dead for 6 days, no wonder the windows are open. her son was her carer when he could be bothered
obviously not for those six days
Rita Bedford seems to have loads of that virus

Hello  nifty friends. We have had lot of rain overnight and on and off today. I havent been out so a very quiet day, but I am used to that now...i did have typed chat with dsughter in canada, 5 hours difference in time. She  filmed round her garden and her little black poodle playing  with  an identical black poodle which had arrived with her new neighbours. Leigh's dog is trained to alert her to  sounds, but not when he is off duty as then.
What was your weather like today, did you Jean and Dian manage to get out somewhere.   After that strong sunshine it was good to have the rain.    Cheerio then, enjoy your Sunday.

PS its just told me that someone has posted at same time,
